it wasn’t unil i realised i was responsible for anything i was given, end to end. and i was also capable of delivering it i changed my process from waitiwhat i was actually capable of,

Its no coincidence this was happening elsewhere in my life as well.

I hadnt been trained in how to ask for the real help i needed or how to get clear on the results people expected or what to do when colleagues and others didn’t perform.

i often had no real instructions on what to do or how to manage issues. General instructions like key people i was dependant on not engaging or how i was supposed to ‘manage’ third parties we were paying to deliver results.

I had to figure out this out myself

Gone were my previous techniques of simply working hard and memorising loads of facts etc. Now i need to achieve RESULTS. The truth was, I often didn’t have a clue what the results even looked like or where to begin to get them.

After i became a senior manager i realised loads of people feel like i had and one of my greatest joys has been not abandoning people, but in guiding them so they didn’t feel lost and useless like i had.

Once i started employing my techniques internationally on large projects i realised my techniques were something i had to share.

I did a lot of courses when i was younger (and paid a LOT of money) and learnt about paperwork and systems for managing risks and gating, business cases and all sorts of other special business terms for excuses for why you may be late, what you needed and resources you’d use. There was a lot of talk about delivering on time and to expectations, even what the high level expectations were. But NOTHING was taught about the actual job of succeeding at getting a task ACHIEVED ON TIME, the real nday to day things i had to do every hour to succeed, especially in a collaborative team environment. strangely never covered.

Once i nailed work and my a wider life.

I dunno know about you, but and diaries, maybe Apps and depending on the manager, inadequate or even helpful instructions. But none of this helped when other people refused or couldn’t engage when I needed it. and of course every best laid plan has things go wrong.

As someone with dyslexia, ADHD and a couple of chronic illnesses i know sometimes it can be tough to even work out where to start, let alone navigate a workplace or a whole bunch of barriers and limiting beliefs. Not to mention the simple fact that most of us are never taught how to get a team of people to get something DONE.

TODAY i have led hundreds of programmes and projects and teams to success on both sides of the world. I’ve won management awards and have used the ridiculously simple and easy to use techniques in all aspects of my and life and taught others to do the same, from further education, wedding planning, moving countries to huge infrastructure projects.
